audio made for you

Questions

What a session is, how it works, and what happens to what you tell it.

What is nodu?
An app that writes audio sessions for you. You talk with nodu about something you want to change, it writes a session from what you said, and it narrates that to you in a calming voice. Nothing is pre-recorded; everything is made just for you.
What is a nodu session?
A conversation, then an audio track. You talk until nodu understands what is going on, it writes the session from what you told it, and you listen with your eyes closed. The audio runs roughly ten to twenty minutes and uses guided relaxation, visualization, and suggestion.
How long is a session?
Take as long as you want getting nodu to understand what is going on. The audio itself runs roughly ten to twenty minutes, depending on what you choose.
Do I need headphones?
They help, but they are not required. Just be somewhere quiet where you can settle in and close your eyes. Please don't listen while driving.
Is it a real person's voice?
No. The voice is synthesized, and the words are written by nodu for your session rather than read from a script someone else recorded. nodu uses the highest-quality voice providers available. You can choose between a male and female voice.
How does nodu know what to ask me?
You discuss what you want to work on and why, and nodu asks about that: when it happens, what your motivations are, and who you want to become. It follows your answers rather than running a fixed list, so the questions get deeper as you go. The first conversation is the longest, because it starts from nothing.
What if I don't know exactly what I want to change?
That is a normal place to start. Say what is going on and nodu will ask its way toward the specific thing. If it turns out not to be a habit at all, nodu will write a session about whatever else you bring.
Does nodu remember what I tell it?
Yes, and that is what makes nodu different. Each session is written from everything you have told it so far, so the next one starts where the last one ended rather than from scratch.
How often should I listen?
As often as you want. People often find that their work with nodu tends to come in waves over time. That is fine. There is no streak and nothing to keep up, and each session starts where the last one ended.
What happens to what I tell nodu?
It is used to write your sessions, and to ask you better questions next time. It is never sold, never used to advertise to you, and never used to train nodu's models. The privacy policy has the detail.
Can I delete what nodu remembers?
Yes. Deleting your account in Settings removes your sessions, the audio, your journal entries, and the memory nodu has built from them, along with everything else associated with you apart from the records the privacy policy describes. You can delete whenever you want, and it is permanent.
What if it isn't for me?
The first session is free and doesn't ask for a card, so you can hear one before deciding anything. After that you can cancel any time, and you keep access until the period you have paid for ends.
